"This has been in the planning for two years now and all our expectations were exceeded. Thanks to Tamarin for the entire planning process. Everything went flawlessly from what to bring to the flights. Thanks to Mike for planning each day fishing on the boat or on the river. He seemed to know exactly where we should go to catch the fish! Thanks to the boat captains/guides each and everyday for the total experience and everyday fishing success. We fished with Fritz for three days and he was very intense on making sure we were always catching fish and we did! Whether we were fishing for Halibut, Silver Salmon, or Red Salmon, we had phenomenal success everyday! We brought back 150 lbs of fish. So much fun!!
I also wanted to make mention that we were very impressed with the gourmet meals each night. Incredibly delicious! I have received some recipes from your head chef since I have been home and oh my...all delicious!
With regards to the accommodations, so cozy and fun! I took so many pictures of the surroundings morning and night. So picturesque! Alaska and Larsen Bay is so incredibly beautiful! I have to tell you that Alaska and Larsen Bay is prettier than Hawaii! Sometimes a website can capture a beautiful day but we experienced those beautiful days, with pictures of our own, every day!
I wanted to mention how kind and attentive Sarah was from the very beginning to the end of our stay. She was wonderful to work with! So were our two river guides, Jason and Thomas. They both were patient with us as this was our first time salmon fishing. I would get a little frustrated at missing one every now and again and for sure used some foul language but neither of our guides were frustrated with us. They just kept encouraging us and made adjustments and eventually we limited out on our salmon catch. I forget our other captains name, he was from Hawaii, but he was spot on with the one day of our ocean fishing. We went to Mission Point and He helped us limit out on our Halibut that day. That was an exciting day too! So much fun.
We were very happy with the staff too. Everyone was so polite and accommodating. Everyone would smile and I knew that their main goals was for us to have a wonderful experience. Their goal was accomplished! An experience of a lifetime!! I cannot express enough how much we enjoyed our time at Larsen Bay Lodge. Larsen Bay Lodge on Kodiak Island is the Disneyland of Alaska! "

"A warm welcome on my arrival from Mike, Tamarin and staff.
Our days were filled with Salmon fishing, bear watching, sea fishing ( the boats were well equipped and comfortable), float plane trips.
It was my first time ever fishing and I loved it.
This trip was about great food and accommodation, Mike meeting with us each evening to hear about our outdoor experience with wildlife and mother nature.

"We had a fabulous 5 days at Larsen Bay Lodge and have already recommended it to many. The guides were amazing and made sure that we both caught plenty of fish and had a great experience. Though we were impressed by the comfortable accommodations and delicious food, it was the service and hospitality provided a Mike, Tamarin, and their dedicated staff that really sent this experience over the top. "I have been to the Larsen Bay Lodge 3 times and I've never been
disappointed. Weather is always a factor in Alaska or anywhere you go
fishing. The nice part about Larsen Bay Lodge is that they have options. If
the seas are calm, you can fish outside in the open ocean. If there is wind or
a big swell, you can fish inside the bay. Both areas are loaded with halibut,
cod and black bass. Or you can take their float to the Olga River to fish for
Sockeye salmon and watch bears. Later in the season when the silvers come
in, you can fish them either in the ocean or the river. Options. We've never
lost a day of fishing at Larsen Bay Lodge due to weather. We plan on coming
back."

"From the Lower 48, specifically PA, we are back from our OUTSTANDING trip to Larsen Bay Lodge. And as you know, we have enough fish to feed the entire neighborhood, but I am sure we will eat most of it!
On the flight back, I looked at E and said "Can you believe what we just did?" He smiled so big, I thought his face would break, and said "No, I really can't believe we just did that!"
You all, and I mean everybody, made this an unforgettable experience for my son and I. Your lodge, your staff, your boats, and everything we did was so much better than my last trip to Alaska. "Thank you for hosting our trip to Larsen Bay Lodge! Everything from the accommodations to the meals was outstanding and then there was the fishing. Limiting on salmon and halibut while enjoying the scenery of Kodiak Island was inspiring. Our floatplane trip to the river, casting for salmon while watching the bears fish, was such a special day. Our trip was more than a vacation. It was an adventure of a lifetime."

"We are writing to try and express the true appreciation we have for Larson Bay Lodge. Impossible in this quick note, however just know we loved every minute from start to finish. Cindy, a little apprehensive before arrival about so much fishing, got "hooked" in the first five minutes. She fished hard for four days, caught more than her share, and would have fished more if we could have stayed longer. Obviously the quality of fish we caught was a big part of that, but Frank really made it an unforgettable experience with his knowledge, helpfulness and great attitude. Ryan also on the fly out to the river could not have been better. He was right there for any questions or anything we needed with a great attitude making it even more memorable than it would have been. Tim the pilot, another great guy gave us a fun, smooth and exciting flight to the river we will talk about for ever. We could go on and on about the food, but briefly, Debbie did a great job on every bite. We got her cook book and will be trying one of her recipes tonight. Can't forget our Isabel. She made us feel like we had our own personal assistant, taking care of any little need including that ice bucket in the room when we'd get back from fishing. Then there was Gabriel and Omar. Coming in with all the fish, there they were to take care of it for us, but first hanging it all up on the rack for those bragging rights pictures. You have created a perfect balance of family and professionalism. All your crew made it one hundred percent fun for us, while seamlessly taking care of business. LBL exceeded our expectations in every area including all the other guests we met that were great, fun people. By the way Mike, we can't thank you enough for the over the top offer of the truck in Kodiak to help with the layover timing. THANK YOU Mike and Tamarin for everything. We are already working on trying to get back there."

"My time at Larsen Bay Lodge was absolutely fantastic!
From the scenery to the food, everything was first class. The thing that
most impressed me however, was the staff's passion for what they do and
their desire to bring that same joy to me as their guest. When we were
out fishing, every time we brought in a fish the guides had a genuine
excitement, even though they have helped bring in thousands of fish
throughout their time there. I could tell this was an authentic response
and just portrayed their passion and desire to be doing exactly what
they are doing. This excitement was contagious and only made my trip

us a great time. We have been thinking about that trip, planning and
saving for years and you guys made it worth while for us. From the food,
to the fishing, to the company everything was more than we hoped for.
You have put together an amazing crew that worked hard to make
everything just right and we wanted to make sure you knew how much we
appreciate the hard work everyone put in for us. I have hunted with
several outfitters over the years and have never come across a group of
guides, cook and camp help that was as hard working, polite, helpful and
friendly as the group you have working there. We were especially
impressed by the language/lack of cussing by everyone that works for
you. It is a rarity these days and was good to see.

Lodge. Our trip was a birthday gift to our 70 year old father. He had
the time of his life! Our favorite day was the fly out salmon fishing
day. We saw 8 bears and limited on Silver Salmon! It doesn't get any

Lodge was all that I hoped for and more. I am a novice fisherman and had
a blast fishing for Halibut out on the sound and Silver Salmon in
freshwater. The guides were extremely helpful and enabled me to hit the
limit on most days. The lodge is first class in all respects –
comfortable room and super food. Most of all I will remember the overall
experience: the fishing, sharing the fishing streams with Kodiak Bears,
the comfort and relaxation of the lodge, and the flying in to the Salmon
streams. This was a vacation I will never forget."

The staff and guide were get a 5+ plus rating out of five. I have visit England, France, Italy, Norway, and Amsterdam just to mention a few. None of those adventures compared to the Larsen Bay adventure. This was my fifth trip to Alaska both in summer and winter so the weather was what one can expect for September. However because of the superior service and dinning we didn't even notice the chill in the air or the couple of bugs in our face while fishing. The fishing was fantastic both the fly out and the saltwater trips. As soon as we landed back in Virginia I was ready to go back, I just know there is a bigger fish waiting for us. But, I am not sure about wanting to see any bigger bears than we did at Olga Bay. FANTASIC on all accounts!! Go to Larsen Bay even if you never go anyplace else in your life."

"We spent several nights at Larson Bay Lodge last August
2016 and it was wonderful. Our luggage was displaced the night we
arrived and would not arrive until late the next morning. We wanted to
fish the next day so the staff came up with clothes for us to wear and
we fished the next day! Everyday we were treated like family and I mean
the 'good family members'. Each meal was deliciously prepared and we had
time to get to know the chef and the servers. Our little cabin was
perfect with a great view and so quiet. They even delivered appetizers
every afternoon after we returned from fishing. Fishing was great from
fresh water fly and spinner fishing to ocean bay fishing we were guided
to the best spots. I imagine it won't be long until we come back and
stay at Larson Bay Lodge."
