"Larsen Bay Lodge is one of my favorite places on the planet! I have been blessed to hunt and fish all over the world, including many parts of Alaska. But Larsen Bay Lodge is my go-to spot. I have hunted and fished at Larsen Bay Lodge over a dozen times and I have come during every month between May and December with the same wonderful results. They have such a wide variety of experiences to offer in an incredibly beautiful setting with all of the comforts of home. The quantity and quality of fish, game and food is truly amazing! Do yourself a favor and book a trip with Larsen Bay Lodge."

"I have been coming to Larsen Bay Lodge for more than a decade. I have been to other fishing lodges but once I discovered Michael and his staff I have never gone anywhere else in Alaska. They make you feel like family. The fishing experience is second to none. Expert guides take you to special spots against the backdrop of amazing beauty and wildlife. I have shared this special experience my children and grandchildren. Memories we will all cherish forever."

"One of the very nice things about being self employed and a log home builder in western Montana, is that you are able to schedule time off that coincides with the various salmon runs and the wide variety of hunting opportunities offered on Kodiak Island. Approximately 19 years ago we met Mike Carlson at the Safari Club International show in Reno and were immediately impressed with his positive, friendly demeanor and knowledge of a variety of fishing and hunting opportunities possible on Kodiak Island. We booked a fishing trip focusing on Silver Salmon and were very pleased with not only the salmon fishing, but the halibut, black bass, ling cod and several other species available. Having hunted and fished on several continents and Canadian provinces, none have compared to the fish in the Larsen Bay area where the Larsen Bay Lodge is located. The facilities are second to none and space prohibits me from going into depth on the quality of fine food provided. The staff went out of their way to assist in any way possible and their friendly, outgoing manner makes even the most grouchy, burnt out client soon forget their problems and realize what a wonderful place Larsen Bay Lodge is to go to unwind, and just have fun! We have invited many friends to travel to the lodge with us and everyone is very impressed with the total package provided. If you are serious about fishing, this is the place to go, if you're going to just relax and decompress, this is the place to go, without a doubt.

Thanks to Mike and the entire staff for a great time, every time!"

"I have fished Alaska with clients and friends for nine consecutive years. Five years ago, I met Mike Carlson and discovered Larsen Bay Lodge and I am sure glad that I did. Mike and his team provide a world-class fishing and lodging experience. He and his staff carefully listen to guest needs and plan each day to satisfy their desires. Whether one longs to fish remote salmon rivers, watch Kodiak bears in their native environment or hunt trophy halibut, Mike and his team have the access, the equipment and knowledge to deliver. Mike's attention to detail, genuine interest in my needs and willingness to customize his approach keeps me coming back year after year."

I have been to Larsen Bay Lodge many times. Mostly fishing and once bear hunting as well. Probably 8 times overall.

If my memory is correct I have never failed to catch my limit of salmon, both silver and sockeye as well as halibut. Caught some pretty big halibut over the years. Caught lots of black bass as well along with some cod and yes a few skates. I remember catching black bass three at a time on a jig. The fishing has always been great ! More than once we caught our limit of silvers in less than an hour.

The lodge is very clean and comfortable, even before the refurnishing and the food is always good, sometimes fantastic. On my recent trip with 8 friends (nine of us total) we each brought back a 50# box of filets. For dinner I requested bread pudding and it was as good as any Five Star restaurant I have been to. How can you beat that? They do aim to please.

The staff has always been experienced and many of them have been there for several years. One year my fiance fell in the river and her waders filled with water. Our guide Wes (still at the lodge) actually took off his long johns and (he had on two pair) and loaned them to her and gave her dry socks. She went back to fishing.....

When you fly you want a pilot that knows what he is doing and Mike has always provided the very best in pilot and equipment. No worries. First Class.

This year I brought new friends who had never been to the lodge and when you do that you always worry a little that they might not enjoy the experience as lots of things can affect a fishing trip. Again, we had a first class experience, great weather and lots of fish......great food and lots of fun with the staff.....they all are still talking about how great it was and I am sure we will all be back, God willing.

Our family group of 11 people (between the ages of 4 and 72!) enjoyed every minute of our stay at Larsen Bay Lodge! From the moment we arrived, we felt like we were at a home away from home. The whole staff - Mike, the amazing lodge staff, the friendly and experienced guides - made us feel like our concerns were their number one priority, whether it was planning our fishing excursions or serving our delicious meals. The volume and variety of fish we caught was incredible and we were all stunned at the beauty and diversity of the settings and the wildlife at all our fishing destinations. We all agreed that it was the trip of a lifetime - and we hope to do it again at Larsen Bay Lodge!

Simply put; taken care of like a family member. From the moment our flight landed in Anchorage we were in there care. Our next flight to Kodiak unfortunately, was unable to land due to fog, by the time we had circled back to Anchorage Tamarin was on the phone lining up secondary air charter to get our group of 8 directly into Larsen Bay. Everyone else on the plane was scrambling, but due to the team at Larsen Bay we were effortlessly escorted to our charter flight into Larsen Bay and didn’t have to miss a moment of fishing. While in Larsen Bay our fishing was first rate both In the rivers and on the ocean. Every experience was top notch. A few examples, I practically shock hands with the biggest bears on the planet, saw pods of whales, caught and ate crabs, hauled in a small barn door sized halibut, ate a 100 year yellow eye, that did not give his tasty life in vain. Enjoyed some spectacular scenery in a float plane, then caught salmon till my arms hurt. When the days came to an end, we were always welcomed with some appetizers in our cabin and a fantastic fresh dinner prepared and served to fit our schedule. I read the “prepare to be pampered” on their website before I arrived, but lived it once I was at Larsen Bay Lodge.

I just want to thank you for a great stay at Larsen Bay Lodge. The fishing was fantastic, both on the river and the ocean. My wife and I already had an Alaskan salmon dinner, and the fish was outstanding. As this was my first trip to Alaska, I really did not know what to expect. The nature is spectacular, seen from the air, the river, or the ocean. The biggest plus with this trip, however, was actually your outstanding service. You both treated us so well, and all of your staff members were friendly and professional. Your kitchen is outstanding and living accommodations were always clean and neat. Yes, it was a once in a lifetime experience that I hope I can repeat. Thank you.

Thank you for a wonderful trip. It exceeded our expectations in every aspect. The food was over the top (thank you Debbie). The entire staff was absolutely great. You are fortunate to have people who truly enjoy what they are doing. That's what makes them so good at it. We have great memories and a new friend from New York. I thank Mike, TJ, and Keenan, for accommodating our needs and desire to hunt the way we wanted to. Kole and I will always share the memories around 3 great buck hunts. They are all important to us, but taking the one world class deer is an honor of a lifetime (for both of us). We will send pics soon.  Thanks again.

I have hunted and fished in over 7 countries and 15 states. I have been flying around Alaska for 45 years to include Kodiak on several occasions. My experiences have gone from really miserable, crashed airplanes, sunk boats, bad weather etc, to really enjoyable ( see my book " Oh No We're Gonna Die"). Our experience at Larsen Bay Lodge definitely falls in the latter category. We found the staff to be friendly, efficient and experienced. The facilities were excellent and the food was great. It is a beautiful setting with a great view. Larsen Bay lodge is a excellent representative of Alaskan lodges and does our state proud. We will be back.

It was my first time at Larsen Bay Lodge. After traveling from upstate NY, to go deer hunting, I truly have no regrets; not only did I get treated and fed great, I met some great people. Thank You, Mike and staff for a great experience. I look forward to returning to experience the fishing!

Thank you for your hospitality this year during our Blacktail hunt. The lodge and was very comfortable and accommodating after a long day in the hills chasing deer. The staff at Larson Bay Lodge were friendly and professional. And the food prepared by Chef Debbie was probably the best I have ever experienced in my extensive worldwide trips! Thank you everyone at Larson Bay Lodge!

My husband and I were fortunate to visit Larsen Bay Lodge in early October of 2015. It is an adventure we will never forget! Beginning with the initial breathtaking view of the lodge as we flew into Larsen Bay, every minute of our stay there was wonderful. We were provided the opportunity to experience once in a lifetime deer and duck hunting, wildlife viewing in the form of miles of Fin Whales and birds, fishing for a variety of species, and some much needed rest and relaxation that we both needed. Mike and TJ helped to ensure we had a successful deer hunt, got us on the ducks, and led us to the fish. My husband being a more experienced hunter but myself fairly new to the sport, the guides made me feel very comfortable. The lodge gave us a place to get warm and enjoy a hot shower at the end of the day. It is also the premiere spot for beachcombing. The views and serenity we enjoyed in our down time between hunting and fishing were a wonderful, relaxing bonus. The hospitality and meals were fantastic and abundant. Someday we would love the chance to go back and we highly recommend this exciting and peaceful place.
