Welcome to
Larsen Bay Lodge

World Class Hunting, Fishing, Wildlife Viewing and much more...

No other place name in Alaska invokes the mystery, adventure, and excitement of Kodiak!   The name stimulates the imagination and often sends shivers up one’s spine.  ….For this is also the home of the famous Kodiak Brown Bear!  This unique subspecies of brown bear is the world’s largest bear.  Kodiak also conjures up images of pristine, expansive vistas with deep blue coastal inlets and clear cold salmon streams teaming with fish.  Sepia tone images of natives hunting whales in skin boats, and etchings of early Russian explorers and fur traders come to mind.

At Larsen Bay Lodge the adventure still remains!   You can still experience the raw beauty and bountiful wildlife of Alaska, but without the crowds.  Located 250 air miles southwest of Anchorage, two-thirds of Kodiak Island is encompassed in the Kodiak National Wildlife Refuge.  The island itself is the second largest island in the United States!

So if tight lines and acrobatic wild salmon is what you crave, then hang on!  If hunting the plentiful and handsome Sitka Blacktail Deer makes your trigger finger twitch, then pack your bags!  If photographing whales, seals, sea lions, bald eagles, and BIG bears makes your heart beat faster, then bring lots of film!  If all-you-can-eat fresh snow crabs makes your mouth water, then come hungry!

Each month of the season brings new opportunities for fishing, hunting, and photography.  Larsen Bay Lodge offers a veritable  “Alaskan Buffet” of wildlife to see and experience!  Don’t just travel to Alaska.  Leave the tourist behind and experience Larsen Bay Lodge on Kodiak!

Larsen Bay Lodge is my favorite place in the world!
“I have been blessed to have been able to hunt most of the lower 48 states, most of the Canadian provinces, and made 7 safaris to 6 African countries.  I have hunted in many other parts of Alaska, but Larsen Bay Lodge is my favorite place in the world!  I have returned to hunt sitka blacktail deer and ducks at Larsen Bay Lodge often.  The fishing is unbelievable!  Nowhere else have I found such a wonderful combination of diversity and abundance of wildlife and marine life in a place of such spectacular natural beauty.  When you accent that setting with a beautiful lodge, fantastic food, and friendly staff, it’s a combination that is hard to beat!  I have returned to Larsen Bay Lodge seven times now hunting and fishing in the last six years.  ….Once bitten by the Larsen Bay Bug, it is hard to stay away!”
